Community Advisory Group

ECS and the County convened a Community Advisory Group (CAG), which met between December 2021 through June 2023. The CAG gathered input from a broad spectrum of community stakeholders to ensure a successful program at 1251 S. Eliseo for residents and the community. The CAG consisted of at-large community members, representatives from the Kentfield School District, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, the Central Marin Police Authority, the City of Larkspur, and Marin County Parks. ECS and County Representatives attended meetings, provided expertise on project and service parameters, and helped guide and coordinate the work of the CAG. ECS is grateful for the commitment of the CAG members and their work.

Specifically, the work of the CAG consisted of:

  • Providing a forum for our community to raise questions and issues directly to the County and ECS;

  • Working collectively toward solutions to issues and concerns;

  • Ensuring transparency throughout project development and operations;

  • Providing input on community and resident needs, staying informed on project and policy objectives, and advising on opportunities and challenges in the local community;

  • Reviewing whether the project is achieving its objectives and suggesting possible changes;

  • Providing information and communication to the community as the project moves forward.

There were also three subcommittees working to provide input and suggestions and build consensus around solutions.

  • Public Safety Subcommittee worked with law enforcement and other stakeholders to support the safety and security of the site and immediate surroundings. The Group provided feedback on the program’s safety plan and safety measures and informed the project team of any safety-related matters of concern to the community.

  • Program Design Subcommittee provided feedback to the development team regarding the services and programming offered to residents, and how the successes and outcomes of those services are defined and measured.

  • Communications Subcommittee, worked with the County and ECS to ensure that the community was well informed about program operations and CAG/working group activities.
